Post WWE today is NOTHING like it was when it was GREAT
Let's face it, the WWE overall completely sucks balls. They are not learning from all the mistakes at all. Nothing has changed in the last three years. The WWF was the sh**. The last great year of the WWE was 2003. During that time, you still had Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, Booker T., Rob Van Dam, and others in the mid card/WWE title scene. Then you had Team Angle, Los Gureruos, Benoit/Rhyno in the tag team division. Plus, you had Mysterio, Ultimo Dragon, Jamie Noble, The Hurricane, and other in the Crusierweight division. Today, there's people every where and they go where they can be the most popular. What do you guys think?

i think u r 100% right... wwe is going down.... if there was any decent competition out there the future of wwe would be in serious trouble.... but since wwe has a monopoly in pro wrestling they are not bothered....

Exactly i agree with you and Mr. Houngry Houghes, 2003 was the year i saw WWE start going down hill and their only main competition is TNA, who are started to become the "New" WCW or a second rate WWE.

The only two companys i can think of thats are still consistant are Ring Of Honor and Chikara, but they obvs dont have the funds or resources that TNA or WWE do. Which in a way is a good thing cause atleast they dnt have guys like Hogan going in and ruining things.

If ROH and Chikara had these resources they would wipe the floor with TNA and especially WWE, cause they consistantly put on great shows!! Thats my view anyway.

Everything just moves too fast. Nothing has any lasting significance besides holdover stuff from the classic days (so you end up with Bret Hart the only really exciting thing on an entire 2-hour show). If you really try to draw a feud out you end up with the same match on TV every other week and people get bored. Put on a match more than 10-15 minutes long and people get bored. If you don't draw out the feud long enough then people don't really care enough to buy a PPV unless the stipulation or match-type intrigues. It just seems like a lose-lose format to me, blowing your wad on a weekly show and monthly PPV. Who the hell cares? If you're a fan who was watching in the classic days, not you, that's for sure.

I think the only thing that really saves wrestling for me anyway is if there is real competition. Not some lame 3-brand simulacrum of competition. I've always hated the brand extension personally. I have neither the time or the inclination to watch 3 shows on half a dozen channels in a week. Monday nights were made for wrestling, and that's when I like to watch wrestling. And I'd rather they do a 3-hour Monday show where absolutely anyone can show up then have the same predictable tripe for 2 hours every week. In fact, the only thing that hasn't been totally predictable is that they would actually feature a DX-themed midget week after week after week after week (and in fairness, Seamus was kind of a surprise, and I'm not sure how the Wrestlemania picture will shape up but I'm not all that hopeful either).

The indy scene is pretty strong, but those companies are obviously less accessible to many people given the limited exposure. But I'd much rather have at least two national promotions where the competition between them behooves each organization to use its talent better, to attract talent from smaller organizations on the merits of each company's programming and not simply because one or the other is the only place to go from there. Ironically, TNA may be the WWE's best hope if they are to ever really grow the audience again.

THIS is what I tried to say!!! Too many wrestlers, too many belts, too many shows, and not enough passion in the ring. It seems as if the WWE are turning into pussies as of late. Even when Hogan was the champion, and many kids where watching wrestling, they didn't stop matches because someone was bleeding during the match. During that time that showed that the WWF gave a damn about what they presented to the fans. As far as the titles are concerned, titles now are losing their prestige becuase they are being placed on wrestlers (regardless if the wrestler deserves it or not), thinking that the title will make the man when it should be the other way around. And the number one problem is the WWE trying to make every aspect a popularity contest. This isn't a bad version of SNL or Mad TV, it's wrestling. They can't put on a great wrestling show because they have a handful of people that can get it done from bell to bell. That's why the WWE is having people like DX, Santino Marrella, and The Masterpeice doing stupid sh** like chasing a leprechaun, acting "ghetto", and having their pecs dance on national TV. It's one of the reasons why I'm going to be watching more ROH & TNA.

women division needs to go.... they put on the most rubbish matches and storylines are always rubbish (piggie james).... the need to bring bak cruiserweight division and hardcore division on smackdown and raw, respectively. they need to stop doing the comedy containing hornswoggle...

(sigh) Yes Yes We know that the WWE isn't as good as it was before but i'm sure someone has stated why. They have only one major competition and that is TNA. All i'm gonna say on this subject is, Why run when you are not being chased.

It's not about being chased. That's the problem. Just because TNA isn't as big as WWE company wise, doesn't mean that the WWE shouldn't try to put on a great WRESTLING show. Everybody in the WWE has this high opinion on themselves becuase they think they beat WCW. When in reality, WCW beat WCW. Plus the wrestling business shouldn't be about competition. The Monday Night War was a prime example of a bunch of bullsh** happening between the WWF & WCW. There were great moments that happened, but overall it left loyal WWE wrestling fans like me stuck with people like Bastista , MVP, John Cena, and other crappy wrestlers. I just wish the WWE would show that they care, really care about wrestling again.

certainly true... but a lot of ppl nowadays watch in hope that one day the glass is gonna shatter and stone cold is going to come out and we'll be in 1998 living austin mcmahon rivalry again.... ok tooo farfetched... maybe he watches just in hope that it will improve....
well watever it is... now that tna is here... hopefully it will improve (probably not wid hulk there) and push wwe.... wcw was on the scene for a while b4 they pushed wwe for the ratings.... and that made vince mcmahon take a gamble that lead to the "attitude" era. maybe wwe needs another gamble now by going bak to being rated 14

This is how I feel as well. I know that no one is forcing me to watch, so that comment wasn't really needed at all. It's just that I grew up watching WWE. I was watching WWE when they had tag teams, and decent female wrestlers, and when the mid card actually meant something. I just check up on it every now and then to see if hopefully anything has gotten better.

Dude, it's gotten to the point where I don't even watch WWE anymore. The last couple of months I did, I would always turn off the television during the main event, because it's the same crap. TNA proved to me that, at least in some instances, they can put on good enough storylines that actually feel compelled to tune into the next episode. On the other hand, I can probably predict a PPV outcome within the first week of build-up.

Anyway, my bad.
Everybody has the right to express his thoughts.
From now on I'll just ignore it.

I don't mind your opinion, I just felt that that kind of comment really wasn't needed, but do what you feel.

I've been of the opinion that they've sucked ever since Vince took over the promotion from his dad and went national ! He turned the federation into a total cartoon show and ruined it !

The women's division has some good wrestlers, but they aren't ever given time to show it, and that is the real problem.

The Piggie James angle was GREAT! The problem was WWE killing it by having McCool get squashed, then doing the stupid gang of babyfaces dump cake on the heels ending.

Yes to the cruiserweights, NO to the hardcore division. Weapon shots and hardcore matches should mean something. Having them on TV every week detracts from this a lot.
